Surprised by first visit to the cannabis dispensary

When recreational weed was finally legalized in my home state, my first visit to the dispensary was not at all what I expected. I should have realized that marijuana is highly regulated and big business. The dispensary in my neighborhood is a huge, modern and comfortable facility. The budtenders are extremely knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. I felt at ease asking questions and confident in their recommendations. I wish that I’d done some research before shopping for recreational cannabis. I wasn’t familiar with the unique terminology or prepared for the many options available. Just the selection of dried flower was overwhelming. I had my choice of over sixty different strains in all different potency levels. They sell pre-rolled joints, blunts, minis and cannabars in singles and in packs. I had to ask what infused pre-rolls meant and learned that a sprinkle of kief makes them more potent. The cartridges are available in disposable and refillable varieties. There are more flavors than I could try out in a lifetime. The menu of edibles is extensive, including brownies, cookies, mints, caramels, peanut butter cups, toffee, suckers and chocolates. There are over twenty flavors of gummies alone. I can buy vegan and sugar-free edibles and beverages such as tea, lemonade, tonic, root beer, cola and cannabeer. There are even mocktails. I spent quite a bit of time checking out the topicals. I was excited to try cannabis-infused bath bombs, lotions and ointments. Plus, the concentrates offer all different textures, such as live sauce, diamond, shatter, wax, rosin and budder. One of my favorite consumption methods has turned out to be tinctures. I love the convenience, portability and quick onset of effects.
