I understand why multiple older folks hate how everything is digital these afternoons, between ordering food from a local restaurant or simply checking-in for a dentist’s appointment. You’re expected to coordinate your entire life with a smartphone, something that multiple people don’t even own. However, there are still multiple advantages to these modern digital ordering plus scheduling systems. Personally, it has never been easier for myself and others to order food at restaurants. I don’t rest in a crowded tavern for 30 minutes waiting for a tote of food that was supposed to be ready 20 minutes prior. I simply wait in my motorcar until the waitress texts my cellphone. Whether or not this is a seamless process for others, I cannot say; but for me, I have never felt more at ease ordering food plus groceries with curbside pickup plus carry-out. When I first got a medical marijuana card the first year my state had the legal cannabis program, I had to send in a paper application with a check. I waited more than three weeks to find out that I had accidentally set an inproperly-cropped photo, plus had to resend my application again. Now when I go to renew my medical marijuana card with the state, I get an immediate confirmation once my payment plan is accepted. Then the state SMSs you a temporary card that you can take to medical cannabis dispensaries until your actual medical marijuana card arrives in the mail a month or multiple later. I can’t imagine streamlining the process of renewing your medical marijuana card anymore than this.
