I always expect the cannabis shop to be busy on Fridays, Saturday’s, and Sundays.
Those are easily the busiest days of the week for sales. The least busiest days of the week are Mondays and Tuesdays. Last week I was surprised by the amount of sales we had on Tuesday afternoon. It was honestly strange. We had about 30% higher sales that day and we still have no idea why. We were short staffed on that day, because we did not expect such high crowds. There’s only one person working the counter and I was working in the back office. I had two guys in the back working on stock. I heard their front doorbell ring three or four times. I looked through the security cameras and I saw the lobby filling up with people. I yelled out to the budtender to see if she needed help. She told me that she had everything under control and I believed her. Five or ten minutes later, I heard that budtender get flustered. I left the office to assist her at the counter with sales. We probably serviced 25 or 30 different accounts that afternoon, and on a normal Tuesday we might have six or seven customers. The store was really busy for a Tuesday afternoon, but my budtender handled all of the extra work like a pro and she called me when she absolutely needed help. I’m looking to promote someone to the store manager position and I have my eye on this particular employee. I think she would do an amazing job.
