There is such a thing as weed etiquette, and the more you smoke, the more you should know about it.
For example, if someone hands you a joint, don’t slobber all over the thing, please! In fact, don’t even touch your lips to the end of it, because chances are it’s all damp and gross anyway.
If you are a regular smoker, you should know how to smoke a joint without making a mess. If you are sharing a bowl, light in around the edges, and don’t kill all the green on top with one hit. This is just common cannabis courtesy, I think, but so many people seem to not know how to interact with others in a civilized manner. In a time when medical cannabis is so prevalent, it is more important than ever before to understand this new kind of courtesy. It’s okay if you are a new medical cannabis user and didn’t know all these things, potheads are very accommodating people. I don’t want to call them cannabis rules because that makes it sound too stodgy and formal. Think of medical cannabis as a toy in kindergarten, when you weren’t allowed to just take toys from the other kids. This applies to other products, as well, but basically anything that you can get from the medical cannabis dispensary is covered under this kind of etiquette. Be cordial, use manners, and don’t touch medical cannabis that does not belong to you… chances are someone will offer you a bowl before too long! We are very generous with our weed.
