For the past six months, I have noticed some strange and peculiar things like the cannabis shop.
The stock and inventory numbers don’t match.
Everything seems to be correct when the products are entered into the system, but items end up missing by the time we do our final count. I’ve often wondered if it is an employee that is stealing or if someone is making mistakes at the register. I finally figured out the problem and I caught the Bandit red-handed. We had a shipment of cannabis concentrate on Friday. The regular crew of six were scheduled to work and I noticed a different car in the parking lot. I didn’t think much about the different car in the parking lot until the delivery distributor arrived with our cannabis shipment. I got everything out of the truck and performed that count. Everything was correct. I left the warehouse and headed back into the dispensary. I decided to walk back to the area, which is something very unusual that I would not normally do. I saw one of my employees and they were carrying a bag of things out the emergency exit door. The alarm was not going off, so it must have been disarmed. I immediately shouted to the employee. He stopped and dropped the bag. He begged me not to press charges. The guy had $1,500 worth of merchandise in the bag. I honestly was shocked and surprised. I trusted the employee for 2 years and the whole time he was stealing from the cannabis shop. I didn’t think I had any choice except to contact the police.
