In my estimation, a cannabis dispensary is no different from a pharmacy.
Well, maybe it’s a little different, but just in the decor and design of the place.
I am the manager of my own dispensary, and I have a strict policy about never being high at work. My standards are exactly, to me cannabis should be treated as medicine. Don’t get me wrong, as soon as I am done for the day the first thing I do is roll a big fat joint and get stoned. But I never do it at work, and don’t allow my staff to, either. The difference between a legal marijuana business and a random dude selling dime bags is that we have strict rules and regulations to follow to protect our clients. Of course cannabis isn’t like other drugs, because you can’t accidentally take too much and overdose. To repeat that, it is impossible to overdose on cannabis! That said, you can take the wrong kind of cannabis and have a not-so-great time, which is what we strive to avoid! I want all of my employees to be clear-headed and sharp, so they can provide the best possible advice and assistance to the customers of my cannabis dispensary. I want them to think of this place as a pharmacy, except that we only carry one kind of medicine – cannabis, the best kind of medicine! Many of our customers are just in it to get stoned, which is fine, but we have a lot of very sick clients that rely on medical marijuana, and I want to make sure we help them.
