It took me nearly 50 years after college for me to actually give recreational marijuana a try. When I was a college student, it was sort of the height of the counter culture movement. But I came from a very, very strict family who forbade alcohol and tobacco. So the idea that I would ever use something like cannabis was just unheard of. And that’s the perspective that ended up pushing me to pass whenever a marijuana joint was passed my way. It was so tough to socialize with folks back then without alcohol or recreational marijuana involved. I’m pretty pleased that I steered clear of alcohol after all the data we now have on just how bad it is for our bodies. That said, I sure wish I had been able to enjoy cannabis products throughout my adult life. But I guess it’s better late than never. We are lucky to live in a state where medical marijuana is legal. I’m so grateful to the cannabis advocates who made that happen. My wife got breast cancer and her doctor recommended medical marijuana. She was afraid to try the cannabis products alone so I tried them with her. Not only did the medical marijuana help my wife through her healing, I found that it changed my life for the better as well. These days, recreational marijuana is legal in our state. And I love to go to the local cannabis spot. My wife and I both enjoy using the cannabis edibles. Our cannabis dispensary has all sorts of marijuana edibles so choosing one is never easy. But the effects of the cannabis edibles sure are easy on us.
