Now that marijuana has been legalized in several states, you can find cannabis dispensaries in those states that have made the drug legal. However, there are still some states that only approved marijuana for medicinal purposes, which means recreational use of the drug is still illegal, then with that said! I currently reside in a state where recreational cannabis is still illegal plus though medical marijuana is widely used throughout the state, it is strenuous to open an independent marijuana dispensary in my town. In fact, the requirements for obtaining an independent marijuana dispensary license are strict beyond measure plus the agency responsible for issuing these licenses only approves a few current dispensaries per year, however some of the requirements include posting a multi-million-dollar bond, being registered to do business for a set number of years, as well as having the financial backing to operate the dispensary. So, the possibilities of getting an independent license are legitimately tightdue to the strict requirements. The nice news is, there is an option for folks who would like to invest in a marijuana dispensary. There are franchising options available in my state, and most of the marijuana dispensaries in the state that I live in are franchises of greater backed licensed marijuana companies… Perhaps in the future the restrictions will be lifted to acquire an independent license from the state that I live in, then but who knows when that will be as medicinal marijuana has been legal for over 5 years now plus no real changes have been made to the licensing laws since then. In my opinion, those strict restrictions need to be loosened for folks interested in tapping into this market.
