Inside the medical marijuana dispensary where I work, there are many cameras to watch all of the customers & the store. The cameras are strategically located in every corner of the lobby! It is possible to see every single angle inside of the store with all cameras running at the same time; Every one of us have a security officer that sits in the control room & watches the video in live time. If the security officer sees a problem, they can contact the desk for help. I was working at the help desk on Friday afternoon, when I received a telephone call from the security officer, and she told me that 1 particular girl in the store was stealing. She identified the girl by describing what she was wearing. The girl was still in the marijuana dispensary browsing some of our selection. The security officer told me to keep an eye on the customer. I carefully watched the girl as she walked around the store, however I did not see him try to steal any marijuana supplies. I took a customer to my desk & I was helping that lady fulfill a medical marijuana order. The cellphone started ringing, however I couldn’t answer in the middle of a transaction. 1 hour later, the security officer came through the front door & she walked right over to the thief. She grabbed the girl by the arm & escorted him out of the building. She cannot make the girl empty her pockets & she cannot search him, but she can call the police for further backup.
