There is so much that goes into having an eating disorder.
There is self image, self worth, cultural pressures and a variety of other factors that come into play. But one constant for those of us suffering from an eating disorder is how we view an appetite. Before I found medical cannabis, my appetite was the enemy. It was this monster that made me feel ravenous which led me to hate myself for binge eating. With me, it was either completely ignore and fight my appetite or give into it completely. Neither of those extremes are going to help any human person. Yet, that’s the way I lived for so long before I got some help which also included access to the cannabis dispensary. My counselor suggested that I talk with a cannabis budtender about finding the right cannabis product for me. The idea was that using cannabis products would help me recognize and accept a natural appetite as a good, healthy thing. From there, I started to learn just how to feed my body the good stuff it actually wanted. That’s quite a change from giving in to an appetite with sugars, processed foods and junk. Thanks to the cannabis gummies I get from the legal weed store, whole, healthy food is now my friend and my appetite is no longer the enemy. It has taken some real commitment and it hasn’t always been easy. There have been times where I’ve regressed but that’s all part of the healing process. It’s been about a year now since I started with the medical marijuana. And I’m healthier and happier than I’ve ever been before in my life.
