My job has changed to online based every since COVID.
I work out of a home office. I rarely need to leave the house. Everything I require or want can typically be delivered to me. I saw no reason to maintain a vehicle. Why should I pay for tune-ups, tires, insurance, gas, repairs, licensing & inspections? Why worry about traffic and parking? I am glad that I no longer have a car to worry about. I am an easy bike ride away from shops, restaurants, friends and all sorts of things. If I need something at the grocery store and can’t wait for delivery, I use my bike basket to transport it. I am very lucky that my local marijuana dispensary now provides delivery services in my area. For a while, I had to make the trip via my bike. It was not pleasant. It is a 30 minute ride one way. I made myself do it for the sake of getting the products I want. I would make it a workout. I’d fill my water bottle, put on my sneakers and dress for the weather. I’d set aside enough time for the journey. The bike ride home, fighting traffic and a steady uphill route was especially awful. Now that the cannabis dispensary includes delivery, I am so thankful. I can order way more now. I can try out heavier items such as edibles and beverages. Before, the weight of the products was an issue for me. I was limited to gummies, tinctures, vapes and compact things. I couldn’t try cannabis cooking oil or butter. I don’t need to worry about size or weight anymore. And if I place a big enough order, delivery from the cannabis dispensary is free.
