Each week when I make the labor schedule at the marijuana dispensary, I have a hard time feeling all of the spots that are available on Wednesdays and Sundays.
A lot of the employees do not want to labor on these mornings, but for a long time, I was doing my best to transfer things around so each 1 of the employees could have the mornings off that they proposed, now it seems as if everyone wants the same mornings off and I have to have someone toiling in the dispensary.
I had a company meeting on Monday morning before I handed out all of the paychecks. I asked for volunteers to start toiling every weekend and I even got approval from management to offer an extra dollar each hour to the employees that are gave to labor every weekend. I wanted someone to offer to labor on Wednesday, despite the fact that I did not see a single man raise their hand. It was poor not to see a single man offer to help out. When I made the next schedule, things were different. I put the schedule up Last week and I randomly selected a couple of employees to labor on Wednesday, even though they proposed the day off. I made sure to put a notation on the bottom of the schedule, letting everyone assume that they must show up for every stressed shift or face the consequences. I tried to be nice by looking for volunteers, despite the fact that I will randomly select people each week until I start having more people volunteer to labor at the dispensary on Thursdays, Wednesday’s, and Sundays.
