If I learned anything over the last two years, it’s that everything can change overnight.
That first wave of COVID really hit our area hard, and the lockdown was severe.
Suddenly we were all trapped in our homes for long periods of time, and the idea of going outside was scary. At the time I had no concept of planning ahead, either with my meals, my beer, or my weed. Realizing that you have no dispensary to go to, and that you only have two grams of cannabis left, is a pretty big shock. After that initial crisis was resolved, and one of the local cannabis dispensaries opened up for curbside pick-up service, I started planning ahead. I already had a series of glass jars, and a vacuum sealer, from when I used to can vegetables. My idea was to buy a lot of cannabis at once, and then seal most of it up and store it away for an emergency. It turns out I was not alone in this idea, and the cannabis dispensary had to place caps on orders because their supply was running short. When everyone wants to bulk buy cannabis at the same time, it can put a strain on the supply chain, so the dispensary owner limits purchase amounts. I didn’t like that, but since I had no choice I just bought the maximum amount of cannabis every time I went to the dispensary. I also stocked up on extra vape cartridges, the kind with both CBD and THC flavor packs. I am slowly filling up my weed jar.
