I’m grateful that I didn’t have legal weed when I was in school or I might not have ever gotten my degree.
- Smoking recreational marijuana was a popular pastime back in those times.
But that sort of thing kind of went by the wayside when I thought I needed to be so super serious about life. I didn’t realize at the time but I had a much steadier perspective on life when I was using recreational marijuana. Sure, I could get a bit on the weekends and like I said, it wasn’t legal weed. Since there were no cannabis dispensaries, we were getting our weed at unusual sources that only those with contacts could access. I appreciate the fact that it is possible to simply walk into a legal cannabis store and get the amount of weed you want today. Yet, I put down the recreational pot once my job took off. And that’s because I lost the big picture and perspective. My job allowed me no space to indulge in recreational pot smoking, which meant dealing with more stress. It legitimately began to take a toll on my health and my relationships. My partner planned a few days getaway for just the two off us and made me commit to going. Unbeknownst to me, she had gone to the legal weed store and purchased some recreational pot. The two of us shared that legal weed while on the trip. I ended up appreciating every hour of the mini vacation. Once again, I regained the positive perspective that I have been missing.
