The doctor said I should wait two weeks

My doctor sent me to a specialist about six months after medical marijuana was approved in the state.

My doctor felt that medical marijuana would help with my pain and discomfort. I have to be honest that I did not believe marijuana was going to work for me. I was hesitant from the very beginning. The doctor wrote me a prescription for a low-dose edible product. The marijuana dispensary did not have a lot of options when I was first approved for a medical marijuana card. I ended up purchasing a root beer flavored cannabis candy that had 5 mg of THC and 5 mg of CBD. I had one of those cannabis candies before I went to bed. I took the cannabis candy about an hour before I went to bed. I did not feel any effects from the candy and I called the doctor the next day. I told the guy that I did not sleep at all and I insisted that the marijuana products were not going to work for me. The doctor told me that I should do so with the marijuana products every single night at bedtime, just like a regular prescription. He told me to wait two weeks before I call again to see if the effects had changed at all. He also encouraged me to increase the dosage to 10 mg instead of 5. I honestly did not believe that the marijuana would ever help with my pain and discomfort, but after five or six days, I was beginning to sleep regularly and I did not have the same amount of pain in my back or my knees.
