I had a pretty bad time getting myself free of opioids.
I had an accident at work, and this was a lot of years ago, when the medical community seemed to be handing out scripts for primo stuff at the drop of a hat.
I got myself hooked on pills, and it was quite a journey getting free of them. Ever since then I avoid prescription medicine like it is heroin or crack. I don’t smoke crack, and I don’t use opium – but I do enjoy medical cannabis. This is the one facet of modern medicine than I can support, because despite its current incarnation, the origins of medical cannabis are in the earth itself. The hippies were probably the first modern subculture to promote medical cannabis use for a healthier mind, but the stuff they smoked is a far cry from what we have. The same industry that got America hooked on opioids turned its attention to medical cannabis, and used high technology and science to make it stronger than ever before. In the past everyone knew that medical cannabis was not addictive, but the same may not be true for modern strains, which have a higher THC content than anything that grows naturally from the earth. Although I do use a medical cannabis dispensary for now, I am working on growing my own plants. Although it is hard work to grow your own medical marijuana, at least I will be 100% sure all the resulting buds are natural and organic. Lab grown cannabis may be stronger, but it’s not better.
