The teacher tried to tell Jack that marijuana was a drug and he called the teacher a liar
There was a small problem at the elementary school last week and the principal called me at my office. She said that she needed to speak with myself or my wife regarding our son and his behavior at school. The principal refused to go into any details on the phone. My wife and I were racking our brains trying to figure out how Jack got into trouble. He is absolutely the sweetest, nicest, and kindest kid that I have ever met. My wife and I both decided to meet with the principal later that afternoon. Jack was sitting outside at a desk all alone and he looked very sad. I gave him a big hug when we walked into the room and then he sat back down at the desk. The principal met with us a few minutes later. He informed my wife and I that Jack got into trouble during the morning meeting in the auditorium. Apparently they were showing a video about the dangers of using drugs. In the video, the people talked about marijuana being a drug. Jack raised his hand and told everyone probably that marijuana was not a drug. The teacher tried to tell Jack that marijuana was a drug and he called the teacher a liar. We got called to the principal’s office and there really wasn’t anything we could do other than agree with our son that marijuana is not a drug. The principal didn’t look very happy with our decision, and I’m sure he thought about calling Child Protective Services, but marijuana is legal for medical use and both my wife and I regularly tell our children that marijuana is medicine and not a drug.
