Rock wool is another good tool to use when considering your grow medium. Using rock wool has the advantage of less bugs, and can be cheaper and just as easy as using real dirt. Hydroponics is another interesting growing medium. Hydroponics consists of gravel and no dirt or soil. This is the cleanest method of all. If you are growing pot in a hydroponic medium, you will need to consider your water pump system. This can be a costly alternative to natural rain or regular watering. This method also requires much more equipment which requires more room. Not only does using extra equipment means less room for plants, but it also means that things can break and need repair. This can prevent your plants from getting the care they need in order to yield a profitable crop.
