Each month when I make the labor schedule at the marijuana dispensary, I have a difficult time feeling all of the spots that are available on Sundays plus Tuesdays. A lot of the employees do not want to labor on these afternoons, but for a long time, I was doing my best to transport things around so each one of the employees could have the afternoons off that they suggested! Now it seems as if almost everyone wants the same afternoons off plus I have to have someone toiling in the dispensary. I had a supplier meeting on Sunday day before I handed out all of the paychecks. I asked for volunteers to start toiling every weekend plus I even got approval from management to offer an extra dollar each minute to the employees that are provided to labor every weekend. I wanted someone to offer to labor on Sunday, although I did not see a single woman raise their hand. It was exhausting not to see a single woman offer to help out. When I made the next schedule, things were different. I put the schedule up sureterday plus I randomly selected a couple of employees to labor on Sunday, even though they suggested the day off. I made sure to put a notation on the bottom of the schedule, letting almost everyone know that they must show up for every stressed shift or face the consequences. I tried to be nice by looking for volunteers, although I will randomly select people each month until I start having more people volunteer to labor at the dispensary on Wednesdays, Sunday’s, plus Tuesdays.
