It’s hard to imagine but it’s been just over a quarter of a century since the first medical cannabis laws were enacted.

Had that cannabis product experiment not worked out, I would not be managing my health as well as I am today. The early medical marijuana visionaries laid out groundwork that convinced local government that medical marijuana was a beneficial addition. Those of us who have always been advocates of medical marijuana have known this for a long time. I mean come on, cannabis has been used for thousands of years to treat a variety of conditions. But it was maligned for such a long time that I wasn’t sure there’d ever be any kind of legal weed store. But we also have to be honest, it was the tax revenue that really made medical marijuana feasible. Access to cannabis products certainly didn’t play into the misinformation of those who opposed it. We were lucky to dispel the myths around cannabis products. And that is terribly important as we move on from here. Well over half the states in our country allow for some form of cannabis dispensary. That number will only grow. Before too long getting a medical marijuana card to access a cannabis dispensary will be a thing of the past. To be sure, medical marijuana is to be thanked for that. I know that I’m truly grateful that my state saw the light and legislated for legal cannabis products.
