Every Saturday morning, my friends and I head to one of the public parks in the local area.

We enjoy hiking different trails through the woods and up the mountains. The park closest to our apartment complex includes over a dozen different trails. Some of them are easy, while others are more strenuous. My friends and I are up for just about anything. We aren’t expert rock climbers, but we’re happy to spend the whole afternoon making our way up the incline, through the trees or traversing any challenge. We enjoy the fresh air and foliage. There is only 1 access point, and it covers over 17 miles round-trip up the mountain and then back to the exit point. We expected a long and tiring day. Halloween is one of my favorite times of year.

We offered specialis on orange and black gummies, pumpkin-shaped cookes and suckerts shaped like witches hats. We also set up cauldrons filled with regular candy that was free to our customers. It was a successful promotion. The dispensary was especially busy that evening. We are always open late and we provide delivery. Because of the quality of our products and services, we are making a name for our dispensary. I am already looking forward to Christmas and have some ideas for sales and specials we can offer.

My buddy helped to get me a job working at a recreational cannabis dispensary. It’s a really rewarding job. My buddy has been an employee since the dispensary first opened in our area. They come to me with questions about dosing and terpenes. I’ve made an effort to try all of our different options. When someone comes in and wants to treat aches and pains, psoriasis, stress, anxiety, insomnia or whatever ailments, I take pleasure in fulfilling their needs. I believe whole-heartedly in the healing power of cannabis. It is a natural remedy with none of the long-term harmful side-effects of pharmaceuticals.

Recreational cannabis is legal in the state where I live. There are several dispensaries in the area. Each of them offers a variety of specials throughout the week. On Sundays, the dispensary closest to my apartment building always offers 10% off everything in the store, including gear and accessories. However sometimes there is limited stock by that point of the weekend, so I can’t always find the strains I prefer. There is another dispensary further away from our apartment that advertises a flower sale every Saturday. They include dried flower as well as pre-rolls in singles and packs. Their top shelf flower products are normally quite expensive, so the discount is helpful. They provide hard-to-find strains of high THC content. A new dispensary just opened its doors. It’s a bit further from my apartment and there’s quite a bit of traffic, making the commute aggravating. However, I really like this particular dispensary because they include a loyalty card. I can get a free seventh item after purchasing six things from the store. It does not matter the type of items I purchase. Everything is part of the sale. The dispensary offers a rewarding selection of concentrates, topicals, tinctures, vapes, flower, pre-rolls and edibles. I visited this dispensary for the first time a couple of weeks ago. I bought a couple grams of concentrate, vape pens and a few pre-rolls. I was impressed with the quality of cannabis and set up of the dispensary. They have really great accessories on sale. They even include t-shirts, hats, bowls, dab rigs and lighters. I decided to gift myself with a glass bong as my seventh free item.

It’s just so very nice to not be constantly faking it any longer. The fact that I’ve spent most of my adult life living an act was a real surprise to a lot of family and friends. But the truth is the truth and I’m gonna live that truth. Part of my change came with a visit to the cannabis dispensary. I know that sounds weird but it’s the truth. For the first time in my adult life I’m not living an act version of myself.

Having enjoyed the benefits of cannabis for some 30 plus years, I just didn’t like having to skirt the law to get it. So when medical marijuana passed in the state, I had a good feeling that was the tipping point that I had been waiting for. Sure enough, the medical marijuana experiment was so popular and successful that recreational marijuana use was legalized shortly thereafter. And no wonder really. The amount of money the state made off the medical marijuana taxes was staggering. No politician in his or her right mind would pass on expanding that sort of thing. Still, I was just thrilled with the fact that I could drive to a legal cannabis dispensary and shop for marijuana on sale all within the scope of the law. That’s a far cry from having to sneak around and speak in code to get some sketchy bag of weed whose THC content was completely unknown. Now, I can look at the marijuana products I’m interested in and know who the marijuana grower was and the THC content. That’s some kind of progress. But my mind had been completely blown now. The local cannabis spot has now started offering marijuana delivery service. I mean that just tops it all. So of course, I called for cannabis delivery and pizza delivery at the same time. It’s like the perfect dream combination coming right to my door. That’s a very long way from smoking whatever dirt weed I could find.

I would love to get high at work as well, but the boss frowns on recreational pot use at work. It’s difficult to remain focused when my mind is so lazy and relaxed. Last Friday I had a bonus from my job and I decided to use the extra cash at the recreational pot shop. While I was at work, I went online to look at the menu. A lot of items were on sale, so I added several items to the online cart. My boss asked me to work an extra hour, so I changed the order to delivery instead of pickup. I placed the delivery order as soon as I was getting ready to leave the office. On a Friday night, I figured it would take an hour or two and I was correct. The delivery driver didn’t arrive until almost 8 p.m. I honestly didn’t mind the long wait, because I had some paperwork to catch up on at home. When the driver knocked on the door, I knew it was the marijuana delivery service. I opened the door and the stench of body odor hit me in the face. The delivery driver for the pot shop smelled really bad. The guy was wearing a t-shirt and a pair of shorts. He looked clean, but he smelled horrible. I know it was the driver too, because the smell dissipated as soon as the driver got on the elevator.

It’s hard to complain when my neighbor’s use cannabis, because it is legal in this state.

It has been for the last four years.

75% of voters agreed it was time to legalize the product. People like me didn’t have any choice when the laws changed. I wasn’t particularly interested in legalizing medical and recreational marijuana. I wasn’t using the drug, so I didn’t take any interest in the laws. A lot of things have changed since cannabis was legalized. There are shops that sell cannabis supplies all over that city. Some of those shops even have seating areas so people can hang out and smoke pot. Several of my neighbors use cannabis products. One neighbor in particular always sits on his porch to smoke a joint. The guy is right above my apartment and I can hear the sounds of his phone at night. I can’t complain about the smell of weed, because the guy isn’t doing anything illegal. Believe me, I tried to complain to the manager of the apartment building. I wrote a letter to the building manager as well. Nothing seemed to help at all and I eventually gave up on trying. Now I put up with the awful lingering smell that is always in the air. I can’t sit outside on my porch, because someone is always smoking weed outside. I can’t smell fresh air or the trees or the leaves, because the only smell is the stench of marijuana. It might be time to move to a different region where marijuana is still considered illegal and problematic.

My boss owns three different cannabis shops in the region.

One is far up north close to the border and the other two are in this region. I hate going to the downtown location of our dispensary. It’s in a bad neighborhood and the place always has homeless people in the parking lot. I manage both of the locations, but I spend most of my time at the branch near my home. I have a very competent assistant that handles all of the day to day activities. I go to the branch on Saturdays to pick up all of the important paperwork. I don’t prefer to spend time at that branch. It can be filled with hoodlums and street vagrants. As long as you have a valid ID, you can come into the store and shop. I had to stop people from using the bathroom, because the homeless people were taking a shower in the sink. The last time I went to the branch downtown, someone broke into my car and stole my ipod. I parked one block away from the store in the middle of the day, and someone broke my window for a $200 music player. I told my assistant that she is going to need to bring everything to my location from this point forward. My boss isn’t happy about that, but right now I don’t want to go anywhere near that place. I don’t make enough money to pay for a new window every time I need to get paperwork from the branch. It’s almost $200 to replace the window.

I was hoping Friday night might be quiet and free of stress, but it turned out to be one problem after another.

It seems like everything goes wrong on Friday. As a manager of a cannabis delivery and dispensary service, things can be very hectic, especially on a busy Friday. Friday is probably the busiest day of the week, and most of that business is done in the afternoon and evening hours. When I went to work on Friday, the first problem I encountered was a delivery issue. The delivery driver left two boxes of supplies on the truck and we had to go without indica live resin. I tried to explain to the customers about the delivery problem, but they weren’t interested in hearing the reason why they didn’t get what they wanted. The dispensary and the lounge are attached and there is only a door that separates them. I always have a dispensary attendant in the lounge as well as a security officer standing by the door. Thankfully the guy was paying attention on Friday afternoon, because the fight happened very quickly. The two guys were getting along and then they were wrestling on the ground. The police had to be called in order to restore order.
