Strains of cannabis for treating migraines

As someone who suffers from frequent headaches, cannabis has changed my life.

There was a time when I would feel the onset of migraine symptoms and have few options. Prescription and over-the-counter medicines create all sorts of new and long-term health problems. Home remedies don’t really work. Cannabis has provided a safe, natural and effective alternative. My local dispensary sells four strains of smokable flower that are especially beneficial. One of the big issues with migraines is that my head hurts so bad that I can’t sleep. However, sleep is often the best remedy. Purple Kush is a pure indica strain that offers seventeen to twenty-two percent THC and less than one percent CBD. It creates a lovely full-body relaxation and deep sleep. My migraine doesn’t keep me awake, and I get up in the morning feeling refreshed. Another favorite from the dispensary is OG Kush. With high THC content, it works to lessen pain and nausea. I also like to shop at the dispensary for White Widow. The hybrid cross of indica and sativa is from Amsterdam and is associated with relaxation and easing muscle tension. If I can treat my migraine symptoms at the early onset, I use Chocolope. It’s an uplifting sativa strain that’s best for daytime use. I light up a joint or a bowl as a preemptive strategy, before the full onslaught of pain. It not only diminishes the concerns of a migraine but promotes clear-thinking and creativity. I am fortunate that I have easy access to cannabis. Although I haven’t gone through the time, paperwork and cost of qualifying for my MMJ card, I can shop at the dispensary for curative strains.
