Using cannabis for leg cramps

I make exercise a priority every day. I devote approximately an hour to working out when I first get up in the morning. The majority of my exercises are high impact aerobics and put a lot of strain and stress on my legs. In the last couple of years, I’ve had issues with muscle cramps. While they can be a problem during the day, the cramps always get worse at night. When I go to bed and hope to fall asleep, my calves will suddenly start to cramp. The pain can be excruciating, and it’s impossible to sleep. I would sometimes wrap my legs in heating pads. I tried over-the-counter pain relievers without seeing much of an improvement. A friend of mine suggested I try cannabis. I liked the idea of a plant-based remedy. I don’t like to take any kind of medication that can cause harmful side-effects. I also didn’t want to quit working out. I like to run, bike, jump rope and be active. I researched online to learn more about how I might use cannabis to alleviate the cramps. I read that the cannabinoids found in the plant are able to influence receptors in the body’s endocannabinoid system. These receptors send signals to the barn and affect pain, inflammation and everything from mood and memory to sleep patterns. CBD is a cannabinoid that has proven effective for its curative properties. I am fortunate that there is a dispensary within a fifteen minute commute from my home. The dispensary carries a huge variety of full- and broad-spectrum CBD products. Cannabis infused-topicals are especially helpful in preventing leg cramps. I can rub the ointments into the muscles right before bed. Because they don’t cause any high effects, I can use them as often as necessary. I also buy an assortment of tinctures. I appreciate the simplicity of consumption, quick onset of effects and precise dosing.
