Kayaking and canoeing are activities that my friends and I enjoy on the weekends. We live in an area with a lot of lakes, rivers, and marshy spots. There are several places along the river that can only be reached in a kayak and some of these areas have natural springs. The rule of the land says that you can use a natural spring even if it is on private property, as long as you can access the spring by boat. A kayak or canoe counts as a boat. We planned to take the kayaks all the way up the creek to a secluded spring. Before we went to the river, we stopped at a recreational marijuana dispensary. I wanted to enjoy marijuana while we were out on The kayaks. Jack was happy about the idea as well. Both of us went into the marijuana dispensary and picked out supplies. I bought two infused pre-rolls that were sativa hybrid Blends. Jack bought a bag of edible candies and each one of the pieces had 20 mg of thc. George didn’t go into the marijuana dispensary. He said he wasn’t interested in getting high and spending the day on the river. After Jack and I started smoking and using recreational cannabis, George changed his mind and joined in the activities. I thought George was going to be a stick-in-the-mud, but the three of us had a really great day exploring the waterways and the secluded spring. The water was crystal clear and blue and the bubbling sand at the bottom looked like little volcanoes.
I got stuck in the mud during a delivery
I wanted to deliver marijuana, because the tips are really nice.
My buddy Jack was a driver and he made about a hundred dollars every night.
He only worked six hours and still made money. He offered to get me a job working with him at the marijuana shop. I got hired right away, but there were no driver positions available at that time. I had to work inside the store. I still earned a good hourly wage, but I really wanted to deliver and make money every night. When the boss offered me a position three months later, I jumped on the opportunity. It was the rainy season at the time and the weather was gross every day. The sky was cloudy and overcast with cold temperatures and wind and rain. One of my first deliveries was on top of a really steep hill. I barely made it up the hill in the wet rain and mud. Thank goodness the house had a concrete driveway. On the way down the hill, my tires kept sliding down the hill. When I hit a patch of wet blacktop, I slammed on the brakes and that was a bad idea. I ended up going into a ditch. The front of my car was completely stuck in the mud on the side of the ravine. I called my boss at the marijuana shop because I knew I wasn’t going to be able to come back to work. I had to call a tow truck to dig out my car. Thankfully my Dad paid for the tow, because it was $275.
Ratio marijuana oil has 50% CBD in it
Until a work accident landed me in the hospital with damaged vertebrae, I had never experienced serious health problems.
The only other time I was admitted into the hospital overnight was during a bad bout of food poisoning during the first year of college. But after I recovered enough to be released, I had an uphill battle ahead of me with severe chronic pain. At times the pain was so severe that I wondered if I would be trapped in a living, waking nightmare for the rest of my life. After seeing a close friend die from opiate overdose, I was reluctant to use prescription painkillers. Luckily my brother had just recently moved back to our hometown after being in California for many years. He got a medical marijuana card in our state within a few weeks of coming back and urged me to get one myself. He told me that cannabis could give me some of the desperately needed relief to get some of my life back again. I took his advice and made an appointment with his medical marijuana physician. This man was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the plant and its many effects. He told me that I need to try something called “ratio” products. He said that the ratio marijuana oil has 50% CBD in it and 50% THC. The combination of the two cannabinoids is a powerhouse for pain relief for many patients, so he told me to give it a shot. I kept my expectations at bay, but I was pleasantly surprised with the effects of the ratio marijuana oil. I felt a strong sense of physical relief that was comparable to the best medication available.
Making pot brownies with RSO for the first time caught me off guard
I am famous among my friends for having an uncanny ability to cook delicious food and bake flavorful sweets.
My kitchen has a double oven and I’m always the one hosting family holiday meals, even if we have a large turnout with dozens of guests.
Even though I work in programming for full time work, I could easily go back into the food service industry if I had no other choice. It was fun for a while but the stress made the job miserable more often than not. I didn’t like getting screamed at in a busy kitchen over menial issues that would never incite so much anger in a different workplace. Although being a programmer can be boring at times, I love having the freedom to listen to music throughout my shift. I would only get a raised voice from a manager if I was stupid and purposefully did something I was warned about once, but I wouldn’t ever do that. Luckily I got a higher holiday bonus this year compared to past years. That gave me the chance to hit the local cannabis dispensary during one of their holiday sales. I decided then and there to buy a syringe of RSO for the first time. So many of my friends have told me that I don’t know what cannabis edibles are like until I try the full spectrum RSO products. They have all of the fats, lipids, terpenes, and cannabinoids that you find in the raw flower, only concentrated. Other cannabis concentrates intended for vaporization lack many of these constituents because they’re lost in the distillation process done to strip away the solvents used in extraction. That’s why so many people prefer “solventless” cannabis extracts if they’re going to dab every single day.
The cannabis dispensary has indica strains for sale for the next few days
There are few things better than a good sale. I don’t buy beer often because I prefer the expensive craft beer for taste, but if I see a promotion with one of my favorite varieties like Milk Stout, I will grab a few boxes to stock my fridge. It’s one of those things that you watch for in the sales paper hoping that you’ll be lucky and see it whenever it’s on sale a few times each year. Since my favorite liquor store gets products from all over the country, there is usually a good selection no matter when I look. And if there’s a sales promotion happening as well, I will spend the money to buy alcohol. Otherwise, I save my money for a better sale. Even though it took a few years to foster the same sense of self-control with my cannabis dispensary purchases, it’s harder because there are more options having six dispensaries within a 20 mile radius of my house. I am always at risk of spending money on cannabis when I didn’t originally intend to, so I try to stick with dispensary sales and promotions only. When I received an email from my local cannabis dispensary notifying me of a sale on indica strains for the next few days, I was ecstatic. While I am a sativa fanatic during daylight hours, by the time I’m ready to start relaxing for the evening, I reach for a pure indica or an indica-leaning hybrid strain. Thankfully the cannabis dispensaries have a quality stock of indicas, but that’s partially because they tend to yield in higher numbers compared to many sativa strains. I walked out of the cannabis dispensary with four jars of cannabis flower buds for under $100 in total.
I don’t mind not having a high THC content in my cannabis products
My friends and I drank a lot of beer in our shared house in college.
We made a wall mural out of bottle caps and it spanned the entire kitchen and dining room areas. Although most of my roommates bought Bud Light and Miller, I loved to find unique crafty beer varieties. The flavors were complex and the effects were always more unique. I was shocked to learn that beer has an entourage effect between the alcohol and the terpenes inside each variety. When I was younger and drank more with friends, I couldn’t put two and two together to figure out why whiskey would give me a harder-edged “buzz” while beer was always a full-body experience for me. I know it’s subjective, but I always had better physical feelings from beer consumption compared to hard liquor. Learning that beer contains terpenes similar to cannabis made a lot of sense to me. Wine is similar, albeit different in its terpene profiles. They contribute to the complex flavors that drive some people to pay outrageous prices for one bottle over another. Regardless of whether or not it’s wine or beer, either will make me feel more intoxicated and “buzzed” than shots of hard liquor. I prefer the experience as well. With that in mind, it’s no wonder that I am not hardpressed about having insanely high THC levels in my cannabis products. I’d rather look at the lab testing paperwork and confirm that the batch has high terpene levels. Just a 1.5% boost in terpenes alone could make one batch of cannabis flower buds “fire” opposed to “decent.” I have smoked cannabis with 30% THC but didn’t really feel overly impressed because the terpenes were under 1%.
I picked up a quarter of OG Kush after not seeing it for years
When I first started smoking cannabis, I was just happy to get good cannabis without seeds and stems. I rarely remember getting actual strains until I got to college. And even then, half of the time my friend had no idea what the weed was even called when he was selling it to me. On multiple occasions we got a strain simply called “Pineapple,” but whether or not it was the Pineapple OG strain or some cut of Pineapple Express, I cannot say. The same goes with Blueberry, since this moniker is sometimes given to Blueberry tasting strains instead of the indica originally called “Blueberry.” Now that I can purchase products in a legal cannabis market, I can finally get real strains without wondering about the genetic origins. So far I am having the best luck with strains that are hybrids of landrace varieties like Thai, Mexican, Hawaiian, and Afghani. For years I couldn’t find OG Kush which is a famed strain made from Chemdawg, Lemon Thai, and Hindu Kush. I read that it originated in Florida and was brought to California by a grower known as “Bubba” of the Bubba Kush fame. Before Bubba Kush was made, the grower named Bubba had a strain called “The Bubba.” Learning all of this history behind some of my favorite cannabis strains was an interesting experience. I’m hoping that I will see quality OG Kush available again from local dispensaries, because it is one of my favorite cannabis varieties. Unlike the pure indica Hindu Kush, OG Kush is technically a hybrid strain. Depending on which phenotype of OG Kush you find, the effects could be sativa or indica leaning.
I tip the marijuana delivery driver if they bother to text me when they’re on their way
I ordered a pizza yesterday for the first time in years.
Because of the delivery fees on pizzas, I have just grabbed them myself whenever I’m running errands or returning home from work.
Since I don’t live with friends, it isn’t hard to plan out my meals ahead of time. Back in college we’d all wander around all day and then decide around 6pm what we all wanted to eat for the night. I wasted so much money on mediocre fast food in college that I could have eaten like a king if I had simply purchased ingredients and cooked for myself. I wouldn’t even consider it these days, and I tend to feel the same way about ordering deliveries from the cannabis dispensary. Most of the dispensaries in my state have significant fees for home delivery. I can’t stomach adding $25 onto my order total just for a tiny bit of convenience. Since I get a four-hour delivery window anyway, it’s not even convenient if I’m waiting around all day. I received an email offering free delivery through the month of December to commemorate the winter holidays. I decided to give the cannabis delivery service another chance. The thing I want the most out of cannabis is variety, especially with all of the unique strains available and their individual terpene profiles. After looking at the cannabis dispensary’s menu on their website, I made an order and confirmed the day and time of the delivery. The website for the cannabis dispensary was clear that I would receive a call or a text when the driver was on his way over to my house from the previous customer’s home. This is what all of the cannabis delivery services do. The driver neglected to contact me and was banging on the door while I was still in the shower. I tried to yell for him, but he was gone by the time I threw on a robe and opened the front door.
I work at a much faster rate with minimal distractions if I use good sativas during the day
When I was forced to work eight hours a day in a busy office, I was uncomfortable and stressed out.
There was constant noise and talking, and I was allowed to listen to music to drown it all out. My employers claimed that listening to music would contribute to mistakes, but the tasks typically amounted to mindless paperwork. On top of that, management enjoyed interrupting us throughout our shifts to make sure we were staying on task. There’s nothing worse than having your attention and focus broken because a supervisor assumes you’re not actually working. You start to loathe your job so much that you don’t care about the quality of the work you’re submitting. When I had the opportunity of a lifetime to start a remote job where I could work from home, I didn’t realize right away how much it would transform my life for the better. I could listen to music to my heart’s content as long as it wasn’t too distracting, and I could also use small amounts of cannabis throughout the day to keep my mind relaxed and at ease. If you stick to sativa strains, you can stay focused and have your anxiety and depression soothed without getting too tired and mentally incapacitated. Since I tend to struggle with anxiety while I work, using a sativa strain can often increase my working speed and my productivity. I am much less likely to take random breaks throughout my shift if I can consume a quality sativa strain in measured doses from the beginning until the end of my work shift each day.
I thought that marijuana edibles didn’t work on me until I tried RSO
I resisted the idea of trying cannabis during high school and college.
I had friends at the time who offered me joints to hit, but I always turned them down. The programming from early school drug programs stuck in my mind for years until I met an amazing woman who uses cannabis medically. She never pushed the drug on me, but I could tell that she was better with mood–control and emotion regulation than I was. After realizing that this was in part from her cannabis consumption, I asked her one day if I could take a hit off her joint. She agreed and I spent the next three hours feeling the best I had for years. We walked around the city at night and had a wonderful date. I realized that I was avoiding a wonderful thing this entire time, but I was happy to experience it later rather than not at all. Now I’ve been using cannabis for years and I’ve been trying to switch to marijuana edibles out of convenience. However, all of the cannabis edibles I tried at the dispensaries were just too weak to affect me. I wondered if there was something wrong with me and if my body just couldn’t absorb THC through my digestive system. All of that changed when I finally tried RSO, or Rick Simpson Oil. This product is made from a strong solvent extraction of cannabis flower buds, typically with ethanol, carbon dioxide, or butane. Instead of distilling the oil, it is administered orally at this stage. Distillation often strips away terpenes, flavonoids, minor cannabinoids, and fats and lipids. Believe it or not, consuming a cannabis extract with all of these components preserved makes for a particularly potent experience. Unlike other cannabis edibles, RSO knocked me off my feet on the first try.
